Why we waste so much time looking for information at work 

It appears that we effectively only work 3 days a week. Statistically, we spend the fourth day searching for information and the fifth day inefficiently dealing with data, such as reformatting, updating, versioning, copying, pasting and getting data out of one application to put it into another.[1]  All told, we waste a significant part of our time per week on these unworthy tasks. Such is the conclusion by various analysts. Wasted time is nothing really new, but what shocked me was the high cost in productivity loss associated with this inefficiency. (mehr …)
